Hasan Ali ruled out of game against South Africa on 26th because of surprising injury

He didn’t took part in the training session with the team today

Pakistan will have to do without fast bowler Hasan Ali in their upcoming ICC World Cup 2023 match against South Africa due to his ongoing battle with a bout of fever. As a result, it is likely that Wasim Jr will take his place in the game scheduled for tomorrow. Notably, Hasan Ali was absent from today’s training session.

Hasan Ali had been recalled to the squad after Naseem Shah was sidelined due to a shoulder injury. In his five World Cup appearances, he has managed to secure eight wickets.

In another development, Pakistan’s opening batsman, Fakhar Zaman, is under consideration for a spot in the starting lineup for the crucial match against South Africa on Friday.

After a surprising loss to Afghanistan, Pakistan’s prospects in the tournament are at a crossroads. They must win all their remaining four matches and hope for favorable outcomes in other games to advance to the knockout stages.

The Pakistani team received some positive news as both Fakhar and Mohammad Nawaz were declared fit to compete against South Africa.

Considering Fakhar’s exceptional performance against South Africa last year, where he scored 193 runs, helping Pakistan secure a 2-1 series victory, he is expected to be a key addition to the team in this pivotal match, as confirmed by an official source in Chennai.

Fakhar may potentially take the place of his fellow opener, Imam-ul-Haq, in the Pakistan lineup for the upcoming World Cup match.

The Pakistani team engaged in extended training session at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday, lasting well over three hours, where Fakhar honed his skills in the nets.
