Indian pacer Mohammad Shami took 5 wickets in his first match of the ICC Mens Worldcup 2023 played between India and New Zealand in Dharamshala Himachal pradesh.
Earlier India won the toss and decided to bowl first and the indian pacers did not allow kiwi batters to score freely. Mohammad Shami took the wicket of Will young on the first ball of his world cup game. The early wickets of Conway and Will Young pushed the kiwis on the backfoot. Darrel Mitchel and Rachin Ravindra gave some sort of respectiblity to the kiwi score as they both begain to score freely. Darrel Mitchel scored his 5th ODI century and Rachin scored 75.
Mohammad Shami took a five-fer and became the only indian bowler to do twice in worldcup. India restricted New zealand to 274 in 50 overs.
